Erasmus+ project

Erasmus+ project ,,CleanSkill: Bridging the Estonian-Latvian Competency Divide“

The international project “CleanSkill: Bridging the Estonian–Latvian Competency Divide” (2024–2026) brings Estonia and Latvia together to reduce the skills and vocational education gap in the cleaning sector. As part of the project, vocational training programmes (EQF level 4) will also be introduced in Latvia; in addition, vocational examinations will be organised and learning materials and training videos will be developed, focusing on efficient cleaning methods, the development of digital skills, environmental sustainability, and the application of ESG principles in everyday work.

Project objective

The aim of the project is to reduce the gap in vocational education and skills in the cleaning sector between Estonia and Latvia. In Estonia, vocational education and the professional certification system in the cleaning sector are well developed, whereas in Latvia there are no regular vocational training opportunities. During the project, Estonian vocational training programmes (EQF level 4) will be introduced in Latvia, vocational examinations will be organised, and an analysis will be carried out to assess whether the Estonian system can be adapted to Latvia’s needs.

Main activities

EQF level 4 training and professional examination in Latvia (Cleaning Supervisor level)
Organisation of professional examinations in accordance with Estonian standards
Presentation of the project results at a seminar involving purchasers and providers of cleaning services

Learning materials and training videos

As part of the project, modern learning materials and digital solutions will be developed, including training videos that provide guidance for cleaning operatives, cleaning supervisors, and trainers. The materials focus on efficient cleaning methods, sustainable use of resources, the development of digital skills, and the application of ESG principles in everyday work.
The training videos and the e-learning environment (Coursy) enable flexible learning, help reduce environmental impact, and improve the quality of cleaning services. The videos are suitable for use in training courses, in the workplace, or for independent learning.
