Puhastusekspert Received a Golden Apple Award for an International Project
OÜ Puhastusekspert received the Golden Apple award from the Harno Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps agency on October 17 in the category “Brightest Projects in the Field of Education”. The international project led by the company, “Cleaning Ergonomics – to Prevent Occupational Diseases and Accidents” (2021–2024), was recognized. The project’s aim was to raise awareness of occupational accidents and diseases in the cleaning sector and to develop more ergonomic work methods in cleaning services.
During the project, training videos, pictorial guides, and learning materials were created, providing instructions on how to clean more ergonomically to maintain physical and mental health. The learning materials are designed for both cleaning service providers and their supervisors.
The project was led by Puhastusekspert, with project partners from Hungary, the Netherlands, and Finland, bringing together knowledge and experience from several countries.

The unexpected success of the learning materials
Many projects create materials only for temporary use, but the project’s learning materials have found widespread use across Europe. In addition to partner countries, the learning materials are used elsewhere in the world, for example, in Norway, the Czech Republic, Iceland, France, Japan, and Australia. The learning materials have also been recognized by the European Cleaning Journal and ISSA International.
The materials have received praise for their easily understandable visuals, comprehensive system, and multilingual translation (Russian, English, Finnish, Hungarian, Dutch). Users have praised the length of the training videos, as all videos are less than two minutes long. The videos are easy to understand, regardless of the viewer’s native language, and they provide essential knowledge for every cleaning service provider. A year has passed since the project’s completion, but the materials are being used increasingly.

Why is cleaning ergonomics necessary?
New e-training
Puhastusekspert’s e-training for learning cleaning ergonomics will soon be released, innovatively available in both Estonian and English. The new e-training is intended for cleaning service supervisors and cleaning operations managers who wish to develop cleaning service provision in such a way that cleaning removes maximum dirt while making the work as easy as possible for the cleaning service provider.
