Cleaning Ergonomics

Kutseeksam
Thank you for your interest in cleaning ergonomics and effective cleaning.
This e-training is exactly the right place to find reliable and practical information on the topic.

The training is based on cleaning ergonomics learning videos developed within the Erasmus+ ErgoClean project.
The materials draw on international cooperation, practical experience, and real-life situations in professional cleaning work.

During the course, we will explore different aspects that help make cleaning:
◦ healthier and safer,
◦ physically less demanding,
◦ while still efficient and effective.

A key principle throughout the training is that the focus of cleaning is always a truly clean surface. This is the foundation of all cleaning work. At the same time, cleaning should not be unnecessarily difficult or exhausting. Although cleaning requires physical effort, it can be carried out in a way that places less strain on the body and is more sustainable in the long term.

The course consists of 12 chapters, structured in a logical and practical order:
1. Introduction to cleaning ergonomics (24 min)
2. Pre-moistening (22 min)
3. Floor cleaning (26 min)
4. Cleaning of flat surfaces (11 min)
5. Awkward working postures in cleaning (20 min)
6. Use of cleaning chemicals (17 min)
7. Personal protective equipment and workwear (15 min)
8. Microbreaks (10 min)
9. A well-organised cleaning trolley (19 min)
10. The knowledge what is included in the job (17 min)
11. The importance of guidance by the supervisor (16 min)
12. Summary of cleaning ergonomics (6 min)

Total duration: approx. 3 h 22 min

After each chapter, you will have the opportunity to:
assess how much potential you believe there is for improvement in this area,
write down which specific changes you would apply in your everyday work.

Your answers will remain private and are for your own reflection. At the end of the course, you will be able to use them to make informed decisions about which changes you will implement in real life.
We believe the training is truly beneficial only if you begin to apply even small steps and improvements inspired by what you have learned.

We wish you a successful and engaging learning experience. Let’s begin!
