The Updated Cleaning Standard INSTA800, or EVS 914:2020, Has Now been Published!

The standard for agreeing upon and evaluating cleaning quality, or INSTA800, has been the official Estonian standard EVS 914 since 2012. Today, the use of INSTA is quite common in Estonia, and in many institutions, it has helped establish a unified understanding of cleanliness. Both service purchasers and cleaning companies have highlighted the benefits of this standard.

Key observations from INSTA users:

• Customer complaints have significantly decreased, thus freeing up more time for other tasks;
• Unnecessary arguments over minor details are avoided; the focus is on comprehensive cleanliness;
• Other sites managed by supervisors of ‘INSTA objects’ are also cleaner, and customer satisfaction is higher, as they are better able to perceive the results.

The Nordic standard INSTA 800 was created in 2000 and is in use in a total of 7 countries. 2018. A revised English version of the standard was published in the year, which has now also been incorporated into the Estonian standard. The standard contains significant updates that users should be aware of.

For everyone who has previously completed Level 3 knowledge training, it is now the right time to consider updating their knowledge and familiarizing themselves with the new standard. For this purpose, the Estonian Centre for Standardisation offers training on November 10.
