Best cleaning practices

Over the course of 3 years, the project team worked through over 40 scientific studies, reviewed cleaning recommendations from different countries, and conducted surveys to identify the best practices for cleaning during a pandemic. A very thorough summary was prepared based on the information, which you can download.

Over 1000 real-life cleaning tests were conducted during the project, with the aim of finding out which methods, tools and substances are the most effective for creating microbiological cleanliness. The tests were conducted in Lahti, Finland. The tests were led by Tarja Valkosalo. Based on the cleaning tests, cleaning recommendation videos were created, which are free for everyone to use. Based on the cleaning tests, a self-assessment questionnaire was compiled, which allows everyone to assess and map the real situation with cleaning at their site or building.

The project is implemented with the support of Erasmus+, which is an EU program to support education, training, youth and sports in Europe. The project implementation period is from 01.09.2024 until 28.02.2026.
